Excess Underwriting (https://excessunderwriting.ca/) is a Canadian grown; commercial, and personal lines insurance provider that works with brokers and their clients to manage risk proactively, collaboratively and in partnership. Excess Underwriting is a part of Gallagher, however continues to operate independently as a managing general agency (MGA) and Lloyd\'s broker serving insurance brokers and their clients across Canada.


The Process Analyst provides administrative support to Excess Underwriting\'s underwriting team - throughout the full underwriting process. You will be part of delivering tailored Insurance solutions - protecting against the effects of damage to commercial property and assets, loss of income due to unforeseen incidents or damages to third parties. Key Job Responsibilities
  • Review new business submissions and prepare quote sheets or risk reviews for underwriter review and approval. Issue, endorse, renew or cancel policies following underwriting guidelines, contractual guidelines, and applicable laws, subject to assigned authority levels.
  • Input policy information into various systems including, TAM, PolicyWorks, Lineage or other host or business systems.
  • Search for information relevant to the underwriting function required to support the underwriting team.
  • Provide certificates of insurance to brokers as per established guidelines.
  • Answer inquiries from brokers. Support the underwriting team in completing sales by assisting with requests and other administrative duties.
  • Order and follow up with site inspections and handle endorsement requests and referrals for the underwriter. Manage relationships with retail brokers and follow up on any outstanding information needed to complete the underwriting file. Assist with customer and broker inquiries; including payment processing where applicable. Perform follow up activities for policy transactions.
  • Perform daily filing, logging and document management activities.

Education and Experience:
  • Qualifications Secondary School Diploma required, College or University Degree strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of Insurance Broker License within 3 months of start date. A year of professional work experience required. Experience in an Insurance Brokerage or Customer Facing Environment highly preferred.
  • Experience with CRM highly valued (i.e. Policy Works, Applied Systems TAM).
