About the role:




Procedure Attendant, as a member of the multi-disciplinary surgical team, performs a variety of service related activities in support of the patient undergoing the invasive procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining asepsis of surgical supplies/instruments/environment as well as the selection, transport and processing of surgical supplies/instruments. They will role model technical and organizational core competencies.
What you'll be doing:


Selection and Distribution of Surgical Supplies and Instruments



Selects procedure list for surgical procedures and selects supplies as indicated by preference card, i.e. specialty items, sutures. Prepares set up of sterile and unsterile supplies in OR theatre in preparation for scheduled surgery.

Decontamination and Processing Function



Perform initial and terminal disinfection of instrument and equipment, i.e. flexible scopes using various types of equipment. Careful handling of delicate and costly instruments, i.e. various flexible endoscopes and probes. Assist the scrub nurse as required, in disassembling surgical set up, i.e. Trays, suction Perform testing and routine maintenance cleaning and documentation of autoclave and other processing equipment as per policy.

Internal Supply Distribution



Distribution of supplies within the unit and obtain supplies as requested by the team Courier and message service in lieu of the tube system as required Delivery of lab specimens, X-ray films, patient charts and pharmaceuticals and any other patient related items as required. Movement of furniture, OR beds, and other heavy items as required. Assists in patient positioning under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. This may include the support of a limb during skin preparation. Develops positive working relationships with the unit team. Performs cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested. Performs other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
What you bring:

This is a day shift - hours are Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm
