About the opportunityThe School of Nursing in Dalhousie\'s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure stream faculty position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level, specializing in Mental Health & Addictions. Our values are to strive for excellence; embed equity and inclusion in all that we do; embrace broad perspectives of health; care for our students, staff, and faculty; collaborate with respect and reciprocity; and commit to viable growth.By the time of appointment, applicants must have either a PhD in Nursing or a Master\'s degree in Nursing and a PhD in interdisciplinary studies, health or epidemiology. All applicants must have demonstrated expertise in mental health and addictions. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. Evidence of contribution to scholarship, teaching, research and practice is desirable. Courses will encompass interprofessional education, in-person, context-based, and/or clinical simulation learning.The candidate\'s expertise must be supported by an excellent scientific publication record and research plan. One to two years of postdoctoral experience is preferred. The incumbent will have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in areas that complement our teaching program. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to optimal teaching and learning strategies, community engagement, and knowledge and experience related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA). The successful incumbent will also be expected to contribute to service activities within the School, the Faculty of Health, the University, and the wider community.The successful candidate is expected to lead an innovative and collaborative program of research that engages the community in the area of mental health and addictions. This position complements faculty renewal and brings together interprofessional teams to support the School and Faculty research strategy to develop a collaborative, supportive and efficient research infrastructure. In addition, the candidate will be expected to secure extramural research funding, including national Tri-council funding. The teaching assignments will include teaching in mental health and addictions as well as courses to reflect the expertise of the successful candidate within the needs of the School. The candidate is expected to become an active and engaged member of the School, Faculty and University.
