THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Assistant General Manager of Golf and Operations, the Pro Shop Attendant greets customers, responds to enquiries, advises customers of golf course conditions, general rules and regulations and, books tee times using computer program. The Pro Shop Attendant conducts sales transactions and deposits of all funds for daily green fees, equipment rentals and Pro Shop merchandise. The incumbent also prepares cash deposit; performs refunds, voids, and returns. The Pro Shop Attendant washes range balls, ensures sufficient buckets are available for next day\xe2\x80\x99s use and cleans golf clubs and places in registered storage. The Pro Shop Attendant also distributes golf clubs to registered users, as requested, assists customers with carryout or loading of golf bags, signs out rental equipment and explains borrowing procedures. The Pro Shop Attendant prepares golf carts by cleaning, fuelling and inspecting for deficiencies.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years of experience in a related field OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered AND Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Alberta, as required Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification for Alberta, as required Experience Knowledge of golf course operations Knowledge of inventory control procedures Knowledge of retail operations Knowledge of health and safety practices Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) In merchandising, marketing and display set-up In using a Point of Sale (POS) system In using general office equipment In cash handling In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as required Competencies, Skills and Abilities Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
