Part-Time Homeschool Tutor (Math, Language Arts, Science)

Location:

St. Albert, Alberta (in-person preferred, but can to a adopt a hybrid model)

Hours:

8-10 hours per week

Compensation:

$45-$50 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and engaging

part-time tutor

to support our 12-year-old son with his homeschool program. The main focus will be

math and language arts

, with some support in

science

as needed.

This role is ideal for someone with teaching or tutoring experience who enjoys working one-on-one, can adapt to different learning styles, and can help build both academic skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction and guidance in

math and language arts

at the middle school level Support learning in

science

topics as needed Create an encouraging, structured, and positive learning environment Help develop study habits, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities Track progress and provide feedback to parents
Schedule

8-10 hours per week

, typically 2 hours per day (flexible scheduling available) Preferred availability during early morning hours (9:00am-11:00am), but we can adjust to fit the right candidate.
Qualifications

Experience teaching or tutoring middle school students (formal or informal) Strong knowledge of

math and language arts

at the Grade 7 level Ability to assist with science topics Patient, encouraging, and able to keep students engaged Background in education, tutoring, or homeschooling is an asset
