I'm a young woman living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a neuromuscular condition similar to ALS or Muscular Dystrophy. I'm looking for a reliable

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

to support me overnight. While nursing credentials are required, this role is very different from hospital or long-term care settings--it's self directed, laid-back, and more about companionship and helping me get settled for the night.

I live a busy and fun life, and travel is a big part of my world, so I'm especially looking for someone who meshes well with my personality and would enjoy joining me on trips.

What the role involves:

Helping me with my nighttime routine (bathing, brushing teeth, PJs, evening snack). Medication administration. Bowel/bladder care, including catheterization. Respiratory support (BiPAP, cough assist, suction machine). Gentle stretches / range of motion exercises. Repositioning during the night. Light cleaning/disinfecting of equipment.

This role is a good fit if you:

Are comfortable with lifting/positioning (I weigh about 100 lbs). Love dogs (I have an adorable toy poodle who thinks cuddles are part of the job description). Can stay awake overnight but are also happy with lots of downtime while I sleep. Don't mind some variety--sometimes care takes place outside my home (hospital sleep studies, family cottage, travel with me, etc.). Have a fun, youthful personality. I'm in my 20s and love working with people who don't just "do the tasks" but enjoy hanging out and making it a good vibe.

Schedule & Pay:

Overnight shifts available Sunday-Thursday. Ideally 9:30 PM - 9:00 AM (flexible if needed). Flat rate

$300-$400 per night

(depending on hours).

Requirements:

RPN Diploma + current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. CPR & First Aid Certification. Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
