POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Compliance, Privacy & Risk Coordinator supports the development and ongoing integration of compliance, privacy and risk management processes. The incumbent will support and participate in various tasks including internal audits, education and guidance, policy review and revision, monitoring and reporting.
This role involves supporting the continuity of key responsibilities, including the coordination and maintenance of product initiatives for the Pricing, Data, and Compliance Division.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in administration of the management framework, including program policies, procedures, monitoring, testing and reporting.
Participates in compliance, privacy and risk management activities including communicating requirements, assessing gaps, and organizing responsibilities within various business areas.
Participates in the ongoing review of potential risks relevant to the business and supports mitigation plans and assists with implementing identified options. Assists with necessary risk documentation including the corporate risk register/(s).
Participates in the internal audit process and assists with the follow-up of internal audit and review activities undertaken throughout the organization.
Supports the Market Conduct process, AML/ATF, Complaints Handling, Ethics and Fraud Monitoring and Privacy Reporting.
Supports in the process for receiving, investigating, and actioning complaints regarding compliance and privacy.
Supports the compliance, privacy and risk-related training needs of employees, contractors and others; acting as a resource for developing and delivering training materials.
Champions the importance of compliance, privacy and risk management throughout the organization.
Supports the development, implementation and reporting on operational KRI's and KPI's.
Supports the design and implementation of reporting tools.
Assists with contract management, including, liaising with business areas to finalize contract documents, ensuring contracts conform to legislative requirements, keeping an accurate and up to date record of the organization's contracts, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Maintains the inventory and documentation of all Manitoba Blue Cross/Blue Cross Life products.
Works cross-functionally with all relevant business areas to identify product development opportunities.
Works closely with the Actuarial and Sales teams to determine optimal pricing for products.
Extracts and analyzes large data sets to make data driven product recommendations
Performs other duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs for both internal and external customers.
Post-secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in finance, business administration, law or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and minimum 1-3 years' related experience will be considered.
Knowledge of privacy legislation, legal and regulatory requirements, internal audit and risk management concepts and controls, including the understanding of industry best practices and professional standards.
Comfortable working under the guidance of senior team members while taking initiative to complete assigned tasks independently.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-directed, with strong organizational skills and a proven record of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks within varied and dynamic timelines on an ongoing basis.
Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, assess, provide options and make recommendations.
Familiarity with compliance audit processes and procedures is an asset.
Experience in the development and documentation of policies and procedures is an asset.
