Reporting to the Machine Maintenance Manager/ Printing Department Manager, the Printing Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the planning, managing and directing of Printing Maintenance Operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead by example and ensure all employees are treated fairly and consistently in accordance with company standards of conduct.
Supervise direct reporting team members by setting shift objectives and expectations, managing schedules and vacation coverage, conducting performance appraisals, and providing timely feedback.
Develop employee training and development plans, ensure adequate cross-training and backup coverage, and maintain positive employee relations on assigned shifts.
Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as required, including conducting workplace investigations related to conduct and safety and making disciplinary recommendations.
Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, hiring, compensation matters, and management of workers' compensation and modified duty cases, including required documentation.
Ensure appropriate procedures and standard work are established, documented, communicated, and that employees are trained accordingly.
Ensure familiarity with and enforcement of the Team Handbook, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety Handbook.
Coordinate, schedule, and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with production demands.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support to maintenance employees.
Maintain the Maintimizer work order system and manage spare parts inventory to ensure operational readiness.
Collaborate effectively with production and other departments on daily operations and improvement projects.
Participate in establishing and achieving Printing Maintenance objectives while managing labor, expenses, and shift scrap in accordance with budget and performance targets.
Identify performance gaps related to people, quality, delivery, and cost, and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
Lead daily shift maintenance meetings and participate in daily operations meetings.
Review, communicate, and post weekly and monthly performance results using reports, charts, and other communication tools.
Actively support and promote continuous improvement by leading or participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives and Kaizen events.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, cGMPs, HACCP, SQF, and 5S requirements at all times.
Conduct accident and incident investigations, determine root causes, and ensure completion of corrective actions.
Promote proactive identification and elimination of hazards, perform daily unplanned safety inspections, and ensure inspections are documented.
Maintain department organization, cleanliness, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications:
Require university degree, preferably in Maintenance, Engineering, Management or related area. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
Require 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a fast-paced, high volume printing environment.
Prefer 5 years of progressive leadership in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
