As part of the CSR/Pre-production and Prepress team you will play a crucial role in the print production process by entering orders and preparing them for production, preparing and optimizing digital files, ensuring accurate colours and layouts, and backing up other areas including running our digital colour press equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities



Receive active jobs from sales/customer service/customers directly Prepare job dockets for plant production, reviewing and organizing the job specifications, schedule requirements, accurate job turnaround, and other information necessary for production of the product to meet or exceed client expectations Identify the need and ordering/communication of ordering of special materials (ink, paper, etc.) or services (bindery, printing) for successful completion of the print job. Preflight all files as per the preflight checklist. Review digital files provided by clients or designers (this includes checking resolution, colour mode, font use, size, marks and format compatibility) to ensure they meet our printing standards. Conduct quality checks to identify and fix any issues in the digital files or proofs. This involves attention to detail to catch errors in text, images, or layout. Knowledge about various printing technologies, impositions, press requirements, including digital & offset to optimize files for specific printing machines. Proficiency in PDF Workflow and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator)is essential for this position to manipulate and optimize digital files. Ability to scan images and text to our standards. Troubleshoot technical issues related to file compatibility, colour discrepancies, and printing errors to ensure smooth production processes. Keep up-to-date with advancements in printing technologies and software to improve efficiency and quality of work. Other duties as assigned by management. Our industry has unpredictive workflows, you will be asked to help in other departments if there is an urgency to help get work out.
Education and Experience

Minimum 1-3 years experience working in the printing industry or a related field Strong knowledge of digital file preparation, creation, editing, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of printing procedures, paper stocks, digital printers, and finishing materials and processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizational skills. Print Production/Graphic Design education highly recommended but willing to mentor and work with an exceptional candidate.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
