Prairie South is excited to announce our new Pathways School, which will be fully operational for the 2023-2024 school year. Pathways School is a storefront school for students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who are not achieving success in the traditional school setting. A storefront school is a non-traditional learning environment that uses space in a building typically meant for retail.
Prairie South Pathways is designed to see our students succeed by focusing on their strengths, interests and goals, and by creating more flexibility and freedom in their learning environment. One-on-one and small group learning sessions will replace traditional classroom structures. Community connections and involvement will help build success through a sense of belonging.
Students who attend Pathways will learn at a pace that works for them. They will focus on employability and will attain outcomes for courses towards graduation.
Prairie South School Division operates 39 schools with a total enrolment of over 7,300 students. The division covers an area stretching from Craik in the north to the U.S. border in the south, and Mankota in the west to Rouleau in the east, and includes the city of Moose Jaw.
