ELCAN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Principal Specialist, Program Management to support the planning and execution of complex development and production programs. As a Principal Specialist, you will work cross-functionally to assist in project scheduling, issue tracking, risk management, and customer communications. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support Program Managers in the execution of development and production programs.
  • Assist in planning project schedules and budgets using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Help maintain key program documentation, including Open Issues Lists (OILs), milestone trackers, and action logs.
  • Contribute to proactive management of program Estimate at Completion (EAC) in collaboration with Program Finance.
  • Monitor and support contract requirements, risk registers, and opportunity tracking.
  • Participate in internal cross-functional meetings and customer reviews.
  • Serve as a key liaison between engineering, operations, finance, and external customers to help ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
  • Support the preparation of program status reports, briefings, and proposal efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A University Degree (preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related field) OR equivalent professional experience
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience in project coordination, program support, or related fields.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, government contracting) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow in program management.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of financial controls, risk management, and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a positive workplace culture.
