Purpose:



We are seeking a

Principal / Lead Civil Engineer,

Mining, Minerals & Metals division to work out of our Markham or Oakville location.


Works independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories and able to do regular visits to client sites, techniques, and practices. Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables. Provide discipline supervision for one larger project or more smaller projects.


Perform Civil engineering work from front-end through to detailed design of greenfield and brownfield mining projects.


Responsibilities:

Site earthwork planning and development Site grading and drainage design Haul road and crossing design Access roads and facilities infrastructure design such as pipeline corridors, pumphouse and crane pads Prepare stormwater management plans including design of retention and detention ponds, controlled discharge Terminal storage facility (tank lot) secondary containment Underground utilities design (culverts, subdrains) Supervise, guide and mentor junior staff Advise Project Management, and other disciplines of the environmental law requirements applicable to the project Manage Civil resource hours and schedule Project Management and Customer liaison will be asset. Prepare Civil MTOs, project cost estimates, tender documentation process, tender evaluation Prepare/review Civil specifications and reports Provide construction support and site visits will be required.

What you will bring



Technical and Industry Experience:




Lead level years of experience in Civil engineering with extensive Mining project experience is desired. A proven mining industrial record is essential. Strong understanding of civil earthworks design including environmental and geotechnical requirements. Working knowledge of civil design software Civil3D and InRoads will be an asset. Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving, the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. You must bring strong and effective leadership skills to this role Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada

Required:



Minimum B. Sc. degree in Civil Engineering Registration with PEO as a P. Eng
