Principal Front End Software Engineer - Human Risk
Lead the Future of Mimecast's next generation of Mimecast protection products
Mimecast is looking for a talented Principal Front End Software Engineer to join the Human Risk Platform Team. You will be part of the team leading the development of our next generation of Mimecast's "Work Protected" product line, building on the Human Risk platform to deliver seamless protection across all the communication and collaboration tools used by our customers.

What You'll Do
You will be playing a key role as a Front End Software Engineer in the Human Risk team. A team with the energy and excitement of a startup, backed by the maturity and security focus of a large and established organisation. We want to hear from you if you have the desire to build, learn and leverage your knowledge an experience to provide valuable insights to customers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with Product Management, UX designers, and the wider engineering team to deliver innovative user interfaces and interactive data visualisations.
• Work with fellow UI engineers and UX to build out a suite of loosely-coupled reusable components.
• Take ownership, mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
• Generate ideas and develop new ways to visualize and present complex information to users.
• Craft resilient, secure, and efficient code, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Take initiative and be resourceful when solving complex problems and define solutions
• Learn about new technologies, innovations and apply them to our products.

What You'll Bring:

• Demonstratable ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive team culture.
• A love for making things beautiful and a strong understanding of usability and visual design.
• Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for showcasing analytical data.
• Expert knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and libraries such as React and TypeScript.
• Experience with configuring modern tools, such as Jest and Webpack.
• Strong skills in developing comprehensive end-to-end test suites for all components, and executing them using Cypress or GhostInspector.
• Experience developing products and features in a cloud-service and micro-service architecture.
• Experience in utilizing NPM for package management and dependency handling.
• Experience with Java and Python is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $148,000 - $222,000 CAD base + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for incentive plans and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
