The Peace River School Division is seeking a dynamic and dedicated

Principal for Menno Simons Community School

. This full-time (1.00 f.t.e.) administrative position will commence at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


The principal will serve as the educational leader, responsible for overseeing all aspects of academic programs, student development, staff management, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and achievement, ensuring the success of all students and staff.


Menno Simons Community School (MSCS) is the most westerly located school within Peace River School Division. We are located approximately 100 kilometers west of Fairview on Highway 64 in the small hamlet of Cleardale. MSCS is a K-12 school of approximately 60 students. MSCS offers a public school program in accordance with the prescribed Alberta Curriculum and also maintains a sensitivity toward the distinct cultural needs of many within our community.

The Hamlet of Cleardale is approximately 29 kms east of British Columbia boarder and 200 kms north of the City of Grande Prairie.

This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is secured.

Qualifications:

Bachelors in Education; Masters in Educational will be considered an asset. Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 1 year in an educational leadership role. Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive academic success. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment Demonstrated focus on Numeracy, Literacy, and Inclusive Education An understanding of data informed collaborative response.

Range:

$ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division), plus the additional $ 25,000 principal allowance as outlined in Article 4 of the collective agreement.

Benefits:

The following benefits are available to teaching staff when they commence a teaching position under contract and are working at a 0.20 FTE or greater in accordance with the collective agreement between the ATA and the Peace River School Division.
