As a Principal Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers, shape technical strategy and drive innovation to ensure every interaction in Microsoft Teams feel seamless, responsive, and trustworthy while fostering a culture of inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team of software engineers, providing coaching and career development.
  • Define technical strategy and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of features and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align priorities and execution.
  • Champion engineering, reliability, and security.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture that values diversity and psychological safety
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience in software engineering.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid technical background in large-scale full-stack applications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with React, Typescript/Javascript, FluentUI.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $142,400 - CAD $257,500 per year.
