What does a Primary Care Paramedic do?
- Enforce safety procedures and standards
- Responding to all emergencies on site
- Providing medical care
- Completing daily reports
- Preventative patrols, including foot and/or mobile patrol of exterior and interior perimeters
Qualifications to become a Primary Care Paramedic
- Current unrestricted registration with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (NOCP 2011)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Working knowledge of the legislation, protocols, and scope of practice for practicing level
- Strong de-escalation abilities and problem-solving mindset
- Must have a class 4 driver s license
- Current ITLS & BLS certificate
- Drug and Alcohol testing required pre-hiring
- Must be able to work 12 hr rotational shifts days and nights
- Must be willing to write an entry exam (EMS)
