Position Overview
We are looking for a clinically strong and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support our family physicians in the delivery of primary care services. The nurse will take ownership of our vaccine program, manage preventive screenings, and support physicians with clinical procedures and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
Administer vaccines and injectable medications as per public health and physician protocols
Perform Pap tests and assist with other preventive care procedures
Liaise directly with Region of Waterloo Public Health to order, receive, and reconcile vaccine inventory
Ensure proper cold chain storage and documentation in accordance with public health guidelines
Maintain accurate vaccine logs and report vaccine usage and wastage as required
Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians with procedures such as IUD insertions, wound care, and suture removals
Conduct vital signs, weight, and patient assessments prior to physician review
Educate patients on vaccines, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle strategies
Document all clinical encounters thoroughly using Telus PS Suite EMR
Coordinate follow-ups and support patient flow in collaboration with medical office assistants
Support front desk operations by answering phone calls and managing patient flow as needed
Qualifications
RN or RPN licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
At least 2 years experience in a primary care or family medicine clinic
Proficient in administering vaccines and performing cervical cancer screening
Familiar with cold chain protocols and vaccine storage regulations
Comfortable working independently and handling public health communications
Experience with Telus PS Suite EMR strongly preferred
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent with patient communication
Must be available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays on-site
Compensation and Hours
Minimum 3 shifts per week
Hourly wage or salary to be discussed based on qualifications and experience

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
