The Role

As a

Preventative Maintenance Technician

, you'll be responsible for ensuring that fitness equipment and related systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained through scheduled inspections, servicing, and light repairs. This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, ideal for someone mechanically inclined who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a wide range of commercial fitness equipment (cardio machines, strength equipment, functional trainers, etc.). Inspect and service equipment to identify wear, safety risks, or upcoming repair needs before failures occur. Complete minor repairs on site (adjustments, lubrication, belt/tension checks, parts replacement). Document service notes, equipment condition, and updates in company work order software. Communicate with clients and office staff regarding equipment condition, service completion, and follow-up requirements. Assist with ordering parts and materials needed for preventative and corrective maintenance. Follow all safety protocols when working with equipment, tools, and vehicles. Maintain company vehicle and tools in a clean and professional condition.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training (mechanical, electrical, or fitness equipment service) an asset. Experience with fitness equipment, mechanical systems, or similar technical/maintenance work is required. Must hold a valid driver's license and have a safe driving record. Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and work safely around moving parts, electrical systems, and cleaning chemicals. Strong communication and organizational skills. Team player with the ability to work independently at client sites.

Physical Demands

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and cleaning agents.

Pay: $21.47-$33.73 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44 per week
