About the Role
The position supports the development and execution of the PEI Management program through day-to-day task execution. This includes inspection scheduling, execution and reporting in close collaboration with Integrity, Operations and Maintenance stakeholders. Supports RBI Assessment and inspection task planning.
Reporting to the Inspection Specialist 1. The position will collaborate with other Inspection Specialists and work with Contract NDE service providers as required. Outwardly the position will build strong relationships with other LNG Canada teams such as operations and maintenance, and externally with service providers and industry peers.

The Inspection Specialist is responsible for the pressure equipment integrity program execution at LNG Canada. The job involves aspects of inspection, materials, welding, quality control, quality assurance, and inventory management within the IMS database. They are an advocate for Pressure Equipment Safety and strive towards making LNG Canada the Safest Project on Earth. Inspectors proactively improve and execute the site pressure equipment integrity management system and supporting work processes.
Responsible for executing field inspections (internal and/or external inspection), assessing inspection results, and all relevant reporting in accordance with applicable PEIM procedures and practices.
Responsible for documenting inspection results, repair and alteration details, and other information relevant to pressure equipment.
Responsible for monitoring repairs and alterations to ensure conformance with the LNGC Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) System.
Is the Integrity focal point for relief device servicing and process.
Maintains the IMS Database to define and update equipment inventory, RBI assessments, inspection schedules, equipment condition history (ECH) reports, corrective action inspection recommendations (CAIRs) and other relevant information.
Responsible for Inspection Task Planning and initial QC package review of new or altered equipment.
Works with NDE service providers to attain requirements of inspection plans and corrosion monitoring programs.
Supports the in-process review of on-stream corrosion monitoring programs.
Responsible for reviewing 3rd Party RBI Assessment deliverable and refining to suit operational needs.
Responsible for stewarding the RBI program during operation of the asset. This will require facilitating and participating in RBI Studies and implementing finding/directives into inspection plans.
Assures and monitors third party QA/QC processes for on-site pressure equipment construction activities.
Work with Inspection Specialist 1 to achieve requirements of jurisdiction.
Manages a very close relationship with operations and maintenance groups, especially with turnaround activity planning.
To be successful, you will have:
Technologist diploma or Engineering Degree in the areas of mechanical, materials, or welding is strongly preferred.
Equivalent in field experience (8+ years) can be considered in lieu will be considered if relevant (10+years) in field inspection in Oil and Gas.
In-service inspection experience with API, NBIC and ASME codes. Willingness to pursue API 510/570/653 and NBIC Individual certifications as early as possible.
Knowledge of NDE methods, application and analysis.
Technical knowledge and application of welding, materials, corrosion, coatings and corrosion inhibitors.
Additional Consideration given to:
ASNT/ CGSB Certification in NDE methods and XRF, Hardness, and Ferrite Testing techniques would be beneficial.
Experience with Inspection Maintenance Systems (IMS) or an equivalent mature implemented Inspection Data Management System. (ie: Visions, Meridium APM, PCMS, etc)
In field experience with maintenance and reliability practices.
Knowledge of threat ranking/risk management concepts. Examples (not limited to) RBI (Risked Based Inspection) or RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance)
Actual field experience with maintenance or inspection.
High level interpersonal skills - strong leader, communicator, and motivator.
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Technically minded. Able to understand mathematical, statistical and engineering concepts.
Comfortable in and around equipment in a plant environment with a genuine curiosity of metallurgy, damage mechanisms, barriers, and inspection techniques.
