Aplin has partnered with a highly valued client, a leading provider of commercial and residential liquified petroleum gas, to find a President who will spearhead the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking, innovation, and a results-oriented mindset. They should be an effective listener, skilled networkers, and experienced in leading teams through periods of change.

We are seeking a confident leader with strong business acumen who is comfortable reporting to the Board of Directors and collaborating with the senior management team. The President will be responsible for developing effective plans, strategies, and policies to achieve long-term goals while providing visible leadership to all members of the organization.

This position is open to candidates in Calgary and Saskatoon.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership of the organization includes prudent and strategic asset and resource management to drive a sustainably profitable business.
  • Development and effective implementation and execution of the organization\'s business plan, with a focus on defining goals, communicating direction, and building a long-term commitment towards a \xe2\x80\x9cfamily first\xe2\x80\x9d culture.
  • Ensure the financial stability of the Company and leads the strategic planning process of the management team by setting corporate strategic objectives including financial targets and investment/growth opportunities by policies and updating the board accordingly.
  • Responsible for overseeing the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company\'s financial information, reporting and disclosure requirements, and internal control and information management systems.
  • Oversee the creation of a budget including capital expenditures. Seeks approval from BOD for review and approval.
  • Develop performance measures to monitor performance in all areas of the company\'s operations.
  • Strategic visionary and planner with both short and long-term goals while ensuring commitment and complete trust of the team, achieved through effective planning, communication, and implementation of the plan.
  • Open and transparent delivery of relevant information to the Board of Directors including capital expenditures, action plans for bringing the corporate vision to fruition, and regular communication regarding corporate performance vs plan.
  • Identify, mentor, and monitor reporting employees who demonstrate superior levels of competency and leadership potential within the company and ensure they are involved and engaged in the company\'s management development and succession plan process.
  • Maintain an impeccable reputation and develop strong business relationships with all members of the organization as well as the communities in which they operate.
Qualifications:
  • A natural coach with 10 - 15 years in a leadership position with preference given to those with experience leading an organization in the energy sector, namely propane.
  • Well-developed budget planning and leadership skills
  • Strong operational background with a history of exceptional regulatory adherence and compliance while maintaining a safe corporate culture.
  • A humble and agile leader willing to listen to the ideas of the collective and the confidence to adapt and implement best practices while driving growth and profitability.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada.
