THE OPPORTUNITY
The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Siksika Group of Companies (SGC) is the senior executive responsible for leading the organization, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring alignment with the vision and priorities of Siksika Nation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial stewardship across a diverse portfolio of businesses and partnerships in multiple industries.
This role requires a visionary and pragmatic leader who can balance business performance with community impact. The CEO will guide the organization in shaping Siksika Nation's economic future, building long-term prosperity, and fostering intergenerational success. As both a strategist and an operator, the CEO must inspire a high-performing management team, cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure the organization continues to grow as a respected leader in First Nation enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Leadership & Strategy
Act as head administrator of SGC, responsible for overall management and direction under the guidance of the Board of Directors.
Define and implement the organization's mission, vision, values, and long-term strategy.
Develop corporate strategy, business plans, and standards to guide operations and staff.
Ensure the corporate mandate is confirmed annually with shareholders and the Board, recommending amendments as needed.
Lead SGC in achieving sustainable economic development and profitability.
Governance & Board Relations
Report directly to the Board of Directors, with oversight from the Board Chairperson.
Provide timely reports, updates, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
Maintain regular communication with Chief and Council as shareholders, ensuring alignment of priorities.
Prepare Board members for effective governance through orientations, updates, and clear communication.
Ensure compliance with Siksika Nation's Government Financial Administration Law (FAL) and related agreements.
Strategic Planning & Growth
Develop and present an annual strategic plan that outlines initiatives, key objectives, resource requirements, and forecasts.
Implement approved strategic plans and report deviations or risks to the Board.
Identify, evaluate, and pursue new opportunities, partnerships, and joint ventures.
Oversee property acquisitions, commercial projects, and investments across multiple industries.
Guide expansion strategies to enhance revenue while managing risk.
Organizational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of SGC and its subsidiaries.
Recommend and implement organizational structures with clear authority and accountability.
Lead and mentor senior managers, ensuring collaboration and high performance.
Establish clear objectives, priorities, and measures of success for all staff.
Foster a positive workplace culture that emphasizes communication, engagement, and employee development.
Financial Stewardship
Assume responsibility for fiscal integrity and efficient utilization of financial resources.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and resource allocation.
Ensure internal controls, financial audits, and compliance with financial policies.
Present annual corporate budgets, audits, and financial statements to the Board for approval.
Optimize financial partnerships, banking relationships, and cash flow management.
Safeguard and grow the equity invested by Siksika Nation.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Management
Develop and enforce corporate, staff, and health and safety policies.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Maintain policies that address key personnel matters, including performance, discipline, and grievances.
Work closely with SGC's legal team on employment and governance matters.
Establish risk management systems and performance monitoring mechanisms.
Human Resources & Talent Development
Provide strategic oversight of all human resources functions.
Recruit, lead, and mentor a diverse team with clear accountability and performance measures.
Oversee performance management, including reviews, improvement plans, and professional development.
Promote staff retention, training, and growth opportunities across the organization.
Foster a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace aligned with organizational values.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Build strong relationships with shareholders, community members, partners, and external stakeholders.
Represent SGC as a credible and trusted First Nation business leader.
Develop and maintain stakeholder partnerships, community engagement strategies, and investor relationships.
Ensure transparent communication with the Siksika Nation membership and surrounding communities.
Planning, Development & Operations
Continuously evaluate and improve financial, operational, and sales structures.
Ensure efficient allocation of fiscal, human, and physical resources.
Oversee business acquisitions, joint ventures, property investments, and commercial agreements.
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders including staff, Board members, Chief & Council, partners, investors, and community members.
Support infrastructure needs and facilities development in alignment with strategic goals.
Other Responsibilities
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Board.
Adapt to organizational restructuring or operational changes.
Be available during evenings or weekends as required.
Maintain primary office presence on Siksika Nation at the SGC Building.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field plus 15 years of senior management experience, OR a Business degree (such as a Bachelor of Commerce or MBA) with 10 years of senior management experience.
Proven success in executive leadership, corporate strategy, and organizational growth.
Experience with joint ventures, investment management, property acquisitions, and contract negotiations.
Strong background in one or more of SGC's key industries: agribusiness, construction, retail, hospitality, real estate, and land management.
Financial expertise, including budgeting, audits, and reporting; IFRS knowledge is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, build organizational culture, and foster employee engagement.
Strong governance experience, including working with Boards, shareholders, and community leadership.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Experience with Indigenous organizations, governance structures, or Nation-owned enterprises is a strong asset.
