North Dumfries Preschool Co-operative is looking for a caring and enthusiastic

Preschool Staff Member

to join our team! We're a play-based, family-oriented program that values curiosity, creativity, and connection. In this role, you'll help create a warm and engaging environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow through play and hands-on experiences.

Experience working with children is important, and

an Early Childhood Education (ECE) qualification is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children and families. Supervise and engage with children during play, helping guide social and emotional learning. Communicate with parents and caregivers about their child's day and development. Work collaboratively with other staff and parent volunteers to support the preschool program. Keep classroom materials organized and maintain daily records as needed. Participate in team meetings and ongoing learning opportunities.

Skills & Qualities

Experience working with young children in a group setting.

ECE certification or equivalent experience is an asset, but not required.

Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification (or willingness to obtain).

Current Vulnerable Sector Check (required before starting).

Friendly, patient, and positive attitude. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Comfort using basic computer programs for record keeping and communication. Reliable, flexible, and passionate about helping children thrive.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
