We are currently hiring for the position of a

Before and After Care plus On Call Preschool Assistant

at our NE/NW Preschool.

The successful applicant shall have a strong understanding of small children, be outgoing, energetic, punctual and professional.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing a play based program Setting up classroom materials and planning activities for the children's learning and development. Work cooperatively as a member of the preschool team, facilitating a team environment through personal behaviour, work contributions, and the sharing of expertise and knowledge. Provide effective supervision, support classroom routines and maintain behavioural expectations with children. Maintain ratios at all times, keeps attendance records of children throughout the day Maintain a safe, clean as well as healthy environment follows licensing standards Coordinate and participate with parents and/or guardians to ensure educational success of the child. Communicate frequently as well as respectfully with children directly, in child-friendly tones on their level Assist children with self-help skills, including feeding and toileting.

What You Bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications)

Formal education within Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1 or 2 (REQUIRED) Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire). Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months. Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, problem solving and leadership abilities. Ability to lift up to 40lbs., especially when working with preschoolers.
