The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to work on design software's including but not limited to Adobe Suite, Adobe Illustrator, ERP, Photoshop, and communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements.
Shift: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: 105 Panet Rd, Winnipeg, MB R2J 0S1
Responsibilities:
Preflight and analyze incoming artwork files to ensure they meet print and structural specifications.
Prepare and correct digital files for proofing, print, and plate output.
Generate electronic and hard copy proofs for customer approval.
Perform step & repeat, trapping, imposition, bleed adjustment and color separation using industry-standard tools.
Output plates using CTP (Computer-to-Plate) system.
Inspect final plates for quality and accuracy before releasing to production.
Maintain organized file management, version control, and accurate production documentation.
Enter and update job details, approvals, and production notes in the company ERP system to ensure accurate workflow tracking.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve file issues, confirm approvals, and meet production timelines.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality control guidelines.
Maintain and organize the prepress area and associated equipment.
Proactively identify and suggest improvements to prepress workflows.
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and team success.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in prepress for offset printing
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
Strong knowledge of trapping, imposition, color separations, and offset-specific requirements
Familiarity with RIP and CTP workflows (XMF experience preferred)
Strong file management and version control practices
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under deadline pressure
High school diploma or GED required; degree or certificate in Graphic Arts or Prepress Technology preferred
