Rae's Bistro is a locally owned independent restaurant that focuses of fresh ingredients and quality food. We are looking for a professional Prep Cook to prepare our house recipes to specification and help develop new items during menu development. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our guest satisfaction.
Qualified candidates will be invited for an over the phone interview and in person assessment.
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work early mornings and weekends.
Proven experience and higher level food knowledge.
Minimum 2 years experience required.
Accuracy and speed when executing assigned tasks.
Can work 40 hours a week.
Knowledge of master sauces, soups, dough, smoking/butchering meats.
Responsibilities:
Setting up and flipping stations with FIFO and proper food handling procedures.
Prepare from scratch recipes with accuracy.
Answer, report and follow Chef's instructions.
Ensure safe food handling and preparation.
Minimize wasted product.
Stock and organize inventory appropriately.
Ensure par stocks are met daily for service.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to quickly execute recipes to brand specifications.
Comply with all sanitation regulations from Manitoba Health.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
Bring new and exciting menu ideas to the table.
