Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within the restaurant and food service industry. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall food handling processes.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices. Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of any shortages. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in food preparation and safety practices.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods and recipes.
