We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and marinating as required
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
Support the team in meal preparation for service, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure a seamless workflow during busy service periods
Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Experience
Previous experience in food preparation or as a cook in a restaurant setting is highly desirable
Familiarity with culinary techniques and food safety regulations
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality meal preparation
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field
