We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and marinating foods.
Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef to ensure consistency in food quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
Handle food items safely and responsibly, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
Participate in daily kitchen clean-up tasks to maintain a hygienic environment.
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food handling and safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Basic cooking skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
