We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices, with experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently and that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and marinating.
Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
Help with inventory management by labeling and storing food items appropriately.
Collaborate kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
Monitor food quality during preparation and report any issues to the head cook or chef.
Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning tasks at the end of shifts.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations is essential.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
