Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Assist in menu planning and meal preparation according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Handle food items safely and efficiently, adhering to proper food handling techniques. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Participate in catering events as needed, providing support for large-scale meal preparations. Utilize knife skills effectively for various food preparations while maintaining safety standards. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.

Requirements

Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations. Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry. Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in meal preparation.
