Responsibilities

Prepare and chop ingredients for various dishes according to recipes and menu specifications. Assist in cooking and assembling meals, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service. Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Handle food items with care, utilizing proper knife skills and cooking techniques. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within the food industry. Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is a plus. Excellent knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
