Job Description

POSITION SCOPE:

Ensuring Chemicals are weighed, warehoused and picked in proper quantities, all containers are identified and stored in a safe manner and documenting all activities on batch sets or in systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Ensure the integrity of chemicals
  • Weigh, pick and warehouse chemicals as per batch requirements and FIFO
  • Document all activities on batch sets or in systems
  • Create labels for all secondary containers
  • Use RF gun to maintain inventory accuracy and control
  • Drive counterbalance, Raymond Reach and Dock Stocker lift trucks and VNA lift trucks
  • Stage Pre-weighed Chemicals in racks and picked chemicals in staging areas
  • Assist in maintaining /cleaning chemical warehouse
  • Prepare for customer and third party audits
  • Provide chemicals as required for R&D
  • Follow all GMP and SOP procedures
  • Follow all Safety Procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Other duties as required to assist departmental requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental Regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits and programs when required.
  • Operate an electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room to monitor and optimize physical and chemical processes for several processing units
  • Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting.
  • Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment
  • Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for the maintenance.
  • Sample products, perform tests, record data, carry out statistical process control on process operation, and write production logs.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years' experience with high school diploma or equivalency required or 1-2 years' experience with post-secondary education or other job required certification or license required; Knowledge and understanding of WHMIS; Valid Lift Truck license an asset

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/CONTACTS: some access to confidential or sensitive information; some internal interactions and/or some minor external interactions; purpose of internal/external contacts is not related to complex matters; no selling, negotiating, consulting, teaching/instructing, or advising; standard level of written and verbal communication skills required for successful job performance

Position is closely monitored and decisions follow prescribed guidelines; some minor analysis required; occasionally makes recommendations or referrals; responsible for solving simple technical problem

ENVIRONMENT: works in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, noise or temperature extremes; occasionally may face multiple demands or distractions; has limited or occasional exposure to poor ventilation

HAZARDS: average to moderate exposure to chemicals, fumes or smoke; has limited to occasional potential of injury, harm, illness or infectious disease; has regular exposure to machinery or equipment; does not require travel
