Your Opportunity:
The Cancer System, Innovation, and Integration (CSII) team is a provincial team within Cancer Care Alberta's Provincial Systems Programs and Performance portfolio. The team's core mandate is to lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of cancer diagnosis pathways across Alberta. These pathways are designed to support timely, evidence-based care for individuals who may have cancer and are co-developed with patients, primary care providers, diagnostic services, and cancer specialists to ensure clinical relevance and alignment with provincial health priorities. Reporting to the Manager of Guidelines and Pathways, the Practice Lead plays a central role in the development of cancer diagnosis pathways. Working under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Practice Lead collaborates with the CSII team and a broad network of stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate pathways that improve diagnostic processes and patient outcomes. This is an 18 month grant-funded position.

Key responsibilities of the Practice Lead include: Pathway development - engages and coordinates diverse clinical and operational stakeholders to co-design pathways that are practical, patient-centered, and grounded in best practices. Measurement and evaluation - works closely with data analysts to identify relevant data for key performance indicators related to cancer diagnosis pathways. Supports the interpretation and communication of data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. Communications - facilitates communication across diverse stakeholder groups, including clinicians, operational leaders, and patients. Fosters collaboration across disciplines and settings. Education - works with content experts, frontline clinicians, and community partners to co-develop educational and promotional approaches that address identified knowledge translation needs.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and current registration with a health professional association. At least 2 years working within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. At least 2 years of experience in quality improvement, knowledge management, knowledge translation processes, change management, or provider education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to utilize competencies related to clinical practice, leadership and optimizing health systems, education, and research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships and facilitate change with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Visio, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

Designations in Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, AIW, or other change management/process improvement methods. Knowledge of and experience in cancer care.
