Who you are:

The Practice-based Educator plays a pivotal role in the healthcare team, bridging the gap between clinical expertise and education. This is accomplished by facilitating the translation of knowledge to the delivery of patient care. The role is essential to ensuring that clinicians, both new and experienced, are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality patient care. Practice-based Educators impact patient care by enabling nurses to work to the fullest scope of the role by advancing standards of care, fostering and evaluating required competence and professional practice. The role is instrumental in shaping the next generation of clinicians and improving the overall quality of patient care. What We Need:

We are seeking an innovative, self-directed individual with exceptional leadership qualities to support excellence in clinical practice and education within the Inpatient Medicine/Cardiology units and Outpatient Medicine/Cardiology clinic, at Oak Valley Health while contributing to a strong organization-wide interprofessional practice environment. As an educator for the Inpatient Medicine/Cardiology units and Outpatient Medicine/Cardiology clinic, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and safe environment for both staff and patients. Your effective communication skills will be instrumental in providing clear and constructive feedback to support the ongoing development of staff. Your leadership abilities will shine through as you promote a culture where speaking up for safety is encouraged, talent is identified and nurtured, and positive leadership influences the team. You will be responsible for curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, assessment, mentorship, staying updated on healthcare advancements, collaboration with institutions, and engaging in research to enhance clinical education and improve patient care. This role requires someone with a proactive and positive collaborative mindset, taking initiative in the face of challenges and demonstrating a service-oriented approach. In addition to supporting the Inpatient Medicine/Cardiology units and Outpatient Medicine/Cardiology clinic, Practice-based educators provide corporate education and training to support organizational initiatives.

What you bring to the role:

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required Masters' degree in a related field is required or in progress Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Minimum 3 years leadership experience in an acute care setting preferred Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in an acute medicine cardiology care setting is required including demonstrated experience with:

? Cardiac rhythm interpretation

? Insertion and care of peripheral intravenous lines, central lines, venipuncture

? Cardiac step down

? Cardiac surgery unit or equivalent is an asset

Coronary Care Nursing Certificate 1 and 2 required. Coronary Care Nursing Certificate 3 and 4 preferred or Critical Care certification. Current BLS and ACLS certification with Heart and Stroke required BLS, ACLS instructor status with Heart and Stroke preferred Experience teaching and training adults and employing adult learning principles including curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, simulation, assessment and evaluation in both formal and informal education Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and interprofessional collaborative practice, communication, and organizational skills Demonstrated abilities in conflict resolution including difficult conversations with positive outcomes Demonstrated experience contributing to corporate committees with the ability to represent global perspectives and support system-wide initiatives Experience in risk cause analysis, identifying trends, risk assessment and mitigation planning with the ability to implement evidence-based solutions that enhance safety, quality and efficiency Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking and problem solving Computer proficiency in Meditech EHR including CPOE and MS Office Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard Demonstrated commitment to a safe environment for staff, patients and families by working in compliance with the Occupational Health Safety Act and related Hospital policies
Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, Days. Flexible as required due to operational needs.
