This includes but is not limited to:

  • Responding directly to individuals, families about complaints and service quality issues
  • Contributing to improved consumer satisfaction by working with individuals, families and CLBC staff to resolve issues.
  • Providing information to the manager on trends in practice to promote improvements in the quality of service provided
  • Research best practice methods in other jurisdictions that could be applied at CLBC
  • Assisting in reviews and issue mediation when regional processes fail to resolve individual or family concerns
  • Communicates with external appeal/advocacy bodies to promote effective solutions for individuals and families
  • Assisting in ensuring that privacy requirements are met and in responding to FOIPPA requests
  • Providing practice support to field staff on adult guardianship issues and supported decision-making issues
  • Providing and/or arranging for training or practice forums for CLBC staff
  • Supporting the Manager, Quality Assurance to promote and ensure high-quality service delivery practices and stakeholder understanding of these practices, by developing policies and internal and external communication materials
You will assist the Manager of Quality Assurance with CLBC staff needs for legal consultation, including supporting CLBC's Privacy Officer in situations where FOIPPA matters and other privacy queries relate to a legal matter.Qualifications:
  • Human Services degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus two years minimum demonstrated experience with social service delivery, preferably in community living
  • Experience with social policy development is an asset
  • Experience preferred in supported decision-making and the operation of community supports and services, and how they respond to the needs of individuals and families
