Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Public Relations Consultant to join our healthcare client on a part-time basis for the next 1+ year. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, creative problem-solver, and excellent communicator with a deep understanding of the various channels to tell our client\xe2\x80\x99s brand story. The PR Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing our client\xe2\x80\x99s brand image, managing media relationships, and crafting compelling narratives that resonate with their target audience.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage existing, and cultivate new, relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers across Canada.
  • Proactively pitch stories, news, and expert commentary to secure media coverage.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive press release strategies to announce company news, product launches, and other key milestones.
  • Craft compelling and concise press releases that align with brand messaging and capture media attention.
  • Distribute press releases through appropriate channels and monitor their impact.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and social media team to identify and articulate key brand messages.
  • Develop engaging and authentic brand stories that resonate with target audiences.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
  • Devise and implement strategic PR initiatives to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for proactive engagement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of PR strategies and adjust tactics as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience working in public relations with a focus on media relations, press releases, and brand storytelling.
  • Strong relationships with key media contacts across various broadcast, digital, and print publication outlets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative PR ideas.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with digital PR tools and platforms.
