We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Public Relations Consultant to join our healthcare client on a part-time basis for the next 1+ year. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, creative problem-solver, and excellent communicator with a deep understanding of the various channels to tell our client\xe2\x80\x99s brand story. The PR Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing our client\xe2\x80\x99s brand image, managing media relationships, and crafting compelling narratives that resonate with their target audience.
Responsibilities:
Leverage existing, and cultivate new, relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers across Canada.
Proactively pitch stories, news, and expert commentary to secure media coverage.
Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests.
Develop and execute comprehensive press release strategies to announce company news, product launches, and other key milestones.
Craft compelling and concise press releases that align with brand messaging and capture media attention.
Distribute press releases through appropriate channels and monitor their impact.
Collaborate with the marketing and social media team to identify and articulate key brand messages.
Develop engaging and authentic brand stories that resonate with target audiences.
Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
Devise and implement strategic PR initiatives to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for proactive engagement.
Evaluate the effectiveness of PR strategies and adjust tactics as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
7+ years of proven experience working in public relations with a focus on media relations, press releases, and brand storytelling.
Strong relationships with key media contacts across various broadcast, digital, and print publication outlets.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative PR ideas.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
