The Auditor, Material Handling Engineer will be responsible for enhancing equipment reliability as it pertains to the predictive and preventative maintenance of the material handling systems and act as a liaison for internal and external resources to improve site and network performance. This position will provide auditing of condition of material handling equipment, quality of preventive maintenance, adherence to maintenance and repair procedures and protocols, and provide hands-on technical expertise to fix critical issues and demonstrate how to properly execute all of the above. In addition, this position will, in tandem with the Senior Technical Trainer, MHE, provide knowledge, training, and tools to support the portfolio\xe2\x80\x99s Key Performance Indicator\xe2\x80\x99s (KPI\xe2\x80\x99s) on critical equipment. This position is not only a technical expert, but a coach with the ability to analyze and teach every level of Technician. This position will report to the Manager, Quality Assurance & Performance.

Responsibilities will include::

  • Provide technical experience and expertise to audit all facets of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), maintenance, and repair at the site and network level
  • Provide technical leadership, expertise, and training to site and network Material Handling teams in partnership with the Technical Trainer
  • Find, correct, teach, and drive corrective actions based on critical path preventative maintenance audits to increase operational up-time for a site and the entire Reliability Maintenance and Engineering (RME) network
  • Provide technical direction and guidance in system issue troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Monitor MHE Metrics and partner with facilities/client operations teams, Technical Trainer, and Manager, Quality Performance Management to deploy system-wide performance improvements throughout RME network
  • Coach and mentor Technicians by providing clear and concise guidance and direction, as well as the ability to demonstrate proper procedures and protocol to help them achieve site and network Key Performance Indicator\xe2\x80\x99s (KPI\xe2\x80\x99s)
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to work all days and shifts, including overnight and weekends
  • Ability to travel 60-80%
Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
  • Proven leadership and previous experience in building a scalable and repeatable MHE maintenance and repair procedures and protocols in a MHE/logistics/distribution network
  • Experience working within large, diverse, matrixed and remote teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, and senior leadership
  • Skilled trade training or equivalent technical expertise in MHE, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or similar fields
  • Robust knowledge of:
  • Automated conveyors systems and controls
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
  • Knowledge of CMMS programs
  • Preventative maintenance procedures
  • Industrial electrical
  • Industrial controls
  • Industrial Electronics
  • PLC programs
  • Experience in dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity
  • Experience in Industrial networking and communications
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and modify program HMI components
  • Experience with 3 phase electrical systems
  • Strong skills in areas of organization and process management
  • Results driven \xe2\x80\x93 the ability to analyze, act, and implement to ensure desired results are achieved
  • Team player who is willing to roll up the sleeves
  • Self-motivated and customer-centric
  • Experience in business analysis and process re-engineering
  • Experience with email and MS Excel
  • Leadership experience/aptitude, ability to mentor and develop training plans for other service technicians
  • Knowledge in Dematic and/or Intelligrated Conveyance Systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent or 4 years equivalent work and/or military experience
  • 3+ years of MHE and/or electrical experience in a conveyance environment
  • Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sort systems
  • Project management experience
