Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) works with clients on a global scale designing solutions for renewable energy (solar/wind/battery storage), Generation Interconnection, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and Smart Grids.

How you can make an impact :
The Power Systems Engineer Intern \xe2\x80\x93 will perform projects/tasks such as network-wide steady-state and short-circuit studies as well as contribute to process improvement efforts. This position will report to an experienced Transmission Manager and be exposed to exciting projects building valuable industry knowledge. Through this opportunity, the intern will gain experience with the Texas and Western Interconnection power systems.

• Building static and dynamic power system models including new technologies such as inverters, wind turbines, or storage systems which may require interaction with equipment vendors to define the models.
• Assist in the submission of generation and load interconnection applications and support the team with generation integration and interconnection efforts.
• Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.
• Making sure to complete assigned projects on time while adhering to project quality and budget objectives.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications:
Bring your passion, here what\xe2\x80\x99s needed:

• Completion of, or current enrollment in, a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or post-grad degree program with a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of, or current enrollment in, power systems fundamentals class(es) (strongly preferred)
• Must have experience with PowerWorld or equivalent power flow software.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to adapt and excel in unfamiliar situations.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking ability.
• Technical writing ability with overall excellent communication skills.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

Location: Spring internships will be conducted remotely. Position is part time, in which hours should not exceed more than 20 a week.
