$22.10 per hour

Skills you bring with you:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1 years' experience with maintenance and safe power saw operation. High level of knowledge of the controlled recreation area of Sun Peaks Resort and its surrounding area. Valid BC provincial driver's license. Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. Valid First aid certification. Forest Safety training preferred. Ability to work as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.

Primary Responsibilities:

As the Power Saw Operator, you will be working closely and supporting a small crew in several different locations and terrain in the controlled recreation area of Sun Peaks Resort.


Brush cutting using power and pole saws. Working on steep slopes and uneven ground. Tree girdling. Engage and participate in morning safety meetings and review equipment needs, vehicle assignments, special instructions, PPE requirements, mountain information updates, weather, concerns and successes, etc., setting daily completion goals. Proper utilization of all safety equipment and PPE required in the performance of daily activities and aligned with Worksafe BC safety standards. Ensure that equipment inventories are maintained and tools are available when needed. Maintain and ensure all team equipment is in top working order (chainsaws, brush cutters, quads, SideXsides) and ensure that appropriate action is taken to repair tools as needed.
