Position Title: Power Engineer Third Class Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Coaldale Requisition ID: 18389
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Operation and maintenance of a 100,000 pph boiler & auxiliary equipment
• Operation and maintenance of a 3900 HP ammonia refrigeration system
• Responsible for lock-outs of steam and ammonia pressure equipment
• Maintains accurate records for log books & SPC data entries
• Troubleshoot an Energy Recovery System (water – water)
• Completes maintenance work on steam, refrigeration, air compression, and utility water equipment
• Completes regular boiler and refrigeration water chemistry tests
• Changes filters, both air and oil, on various pieces of equipment associated with the boiler and refrigeration operations
• Has to climb ladders and work at heights when working on several pieces of equipment.
• Required to lift up to 50 lbs alone and 75 to 80 lbs with assistance
• In some areas will have to stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions in order to service equipment
• All other maintenance assigned tasks or functions as designated by Chief Engineer or designee

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Experience – Operational & maintenance experience with high pressure boilers, with experience on Ammonia refrigeration systems highly sought after.
• Physical Ability – Physically capable of safely performing the work (i.e. while working at heights lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping etc.) including stairs that need to be regularly climbed/descended.
• Computer Aptitude – Computer use as well as an understanding of associated software (i.e. SAP, Excel, Power Point)
• Flexible – Must be flexible with your schedule to support Kaizen events and activities. This position works a 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift rotation

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

• Certifications– Third Class Power Engineer’s Ticket a must. Work towards 2nd class certificate an asset
• Must be capable of obtaining First Aid, H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry & Forklift Operator certificates
