A leader in the Maritime Forest Products Industry, the Doaktown Sawmill is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Relief Power Engineer. This position will work with the production team in a general labour capacity and be available to join the kilns and boiler team as needed with the opportunity to become a permanent, fulltime Power Engineer when a position is vacated.

The Job:

Some key responsibilities for this role will include:

While working in a general labour capacity:

• This is a site wide position, working in a variety of areas
• Cleaning up chips, sawdust, and other lumber production byproducts
• Handling and lifting materials
• General labourer responsibilities suited to a sawmill

While working at the boiler and kilns:

• Daily operation of biomass boilers
• Care and maintenance of steam boilers and auxiliary plant operation
• Daily operation and maintenance of lumber dry kilns

The Qualifications:

Education, certifications, and experience required:

• Trade Certification or Associate\xe2\x80\x99s Degree
• Must be at least a 4th class Power Engineer
• 2 to 5 years of experience
• Ability to work shifts that include nights and weekends
