Postdoctoral Fellow - Edema in Brain Cancer
Couturier Lab, Montreal Neurological Institute (The Neuro), McGill University
About the Project
The Couturier Lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join an interdisciplinary project titled "Dissecting and Targeting the Cellular Drivers of Edema in Brain Cancer."
This D2R-funded initiative investigates how the tumour microenvironment contributes to blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction and edema in brain cancer, a major source of morbidity in the disease. Using radiomics, single-cell, and spatial omics, the project integrates imaging and molecular data to better understand tumour-vascular interactions and guide the development of safer, targeted therapeutic strategies for edema.
About the Lab
The Couturier Lab integrates single-cell, spatial, and imaging-based omics to deconstruct brain tumour behaviours into their cellular and molecular building blocks. Our research spans the interface of molecular biology, computational modeling, and clinical imaging, with the aim of translating mechanistic discoveries into precision strategies for patient care.
Based at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital), the lab is part of a dynamic ecosystem that bridges fundamental discovery with translational neuro-oncology.
About McGill and Montreal
Montreal is one of North America's leading centres for research and innovation, home to world-class institutions such as McGill University, The Neuro, and the Goodman Cancer Institute. The city offers an exceptional quality of life, with a vibrant cultural scene, affordable living, and a welcoming bilingual environment. Its compact layout, efficient public transit, and abundance of green spaces make Montreal an outstanding place to live and work.
Position Overview
The postdoctoral fellow will lead the computational and integrative analysis of multimodal datasets linking MRI features with transcriptomic and spatial maps of human glioblastoma.
While primarily computational, this position also involves supporting wet-lab validation using spatial transcriptomics (Visium HD) and multiplex immunofluorescence, offering a unique cross-training opportunity in experimental spatial biology.
The fellow will be expected to work efficiently as part of a multi-disciplinary team including graduate students, technicians, and clinicians from multiple fields.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and apply computational pipelines to integrate and analyze radiomic, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomic data. * Prepare figures, manuscripts, and presentations for high-impact publications.
