Position Summary: Proposed project title: "Targeted & Non-targeted analysis of PFAS in food packaging". Develop and apply liquid chromatography (LC) methods coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry for the targeted analysis of PFAS in food packaging materials. Develop and apply liquid chromatography (LC) and pyrolysis-gas chromatography (py-GC) methods coupled with mass spectrometry for the non-targeted analysis of PFAS. This task notably involves cutting-edge work on data processing. Simultaneously deploy targeted analysis quantification and non-targeted identification of PFAS in samples obtained from the market and various industrial partners. Contribute to workshops to present the results and the state of the art in the field to industrial partners and other stakeholders.



Qualifications: A PhD degree in a related field (chemistry, food science, biochemistry, etc.). Strong proven background (published work in peer-reviewed journals) in analytical chemistry (non-targeted analysis of plastic related contaminants), food science, and food analysis. Proficiency in different areas of chromatography, high-resolution mass spectrometry and data analysis. At least two first-authored English papers (or three if co-first authors) with submitted, accepted or published status in peer-reviewed journals. Good spoken and written communication skills in English.
