Professor Jacob Biamonte's research group at ETS specializes in quantum computing theory and applications. The team investigates theoretical foundations, quantum algorithm development, and experimental validation using quantum processors available in Quebec, including IBM and PASQAL systems. The group actively collaborates with Quebec's vibrant quantum ecosystem, including the Quebec Quantum Algorithms Alliance (AQQ) and the Transdisciplinary Institute for Quantum Information (INTRIQ).





YOUR ROLE

Your Role You will engage in advanced research in quantum algorithm development, tensor network theory, mathematical and physical foundations of quantum computing, and experimental validation and benchmarking of theoretical models on real quantum hardware.



REQUIREMENT


===============

Ph.D. (awarded within the last 5 years or near completion) in quantum computing, theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field. Experience or interest in linking theoretical research with experimental validation on quantum platforms. Excellent communication skills, scientific writing abilities, and teamwork. Master spoken and written French in accordance with the ETS Language Policy

Start and Duration Initial one-year contract starting as soon as possible, renewable annually for up to two additional years.

Annual salary: CAD $50,000-70,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits: 3% salary allowance for health insurance or eligibility for Quebec's public health insurance (RAMQ), campus amenities, public transit discounts, and professional development resources.
