Postdoctoral Scholar in Immunotherapy for Pediatric Malignancies
.

A Postdoctoral Fellowship specializing in Pediatric oncology immunotherapy is available. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to advance research focused on developing safe and effective precision medicines for childhood cancers, including innovative vaccines, by integrating genomic and computational approaches with molecular and in vivo immunological techniques. The position also provides structured career development opportunities in teaching, external research collaborations, and grant writing. Fellows will benefit from close interactions with clinicians and receive training in translational Pediatric oncology (see POETICPhase1.org).
Responsibilities:
Design and execute experimental studies focused on discovering novel therapeutics for refractory pediatric malignancies
Conduct hands-on research, generating data to support future clinical trials for childhood cancers
Develop innovative methodologies or apply existing techniques in new ways within the field of immuno-oncology
Contribute to the preparation of research proposals, scientific manuscripts, and grant applications.
Provide support and mentorship to junior staff, fellows, and graduate students, as appropriate.
Collaborate closely with pediatric oncologists at Alberta Childrens Hospital to foster translational research
Qualifications:
Ph.D., MD, or MD/PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Medicine, or a closely related discipline
Demonstrated experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, including mammalian tissue culture and cell growth inhibition assays
Expertise in bioinformatics, drug discovery, structural biology, and cancer biology
Hands-on experience working with in vivo experimental models
A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in immunology, vaccinology, or cancer-related journals
A demonstrated commitment to advancing cures for childhood cancer, with compassion and dedication to pediatric research
