Job Purpose:


Our Real Estate division manages the province\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio of government buildings and land, which is one of the largest and most diverse in the country. We oversee the day-to-day operation and long-term maintenance of these facilities through partnerships with private-sector service providers. We are responsible for ensuring provincially owned real estate is being used in the best, most optimal way. Finding innovative ways to reduce and revitalize the government\xe2\x80\x99s building and land holdings is central to our business and integral to the value we provide Ontarians.

We are currently looking for a Portfolio Real Estate Manager to provide leadership and real estate expertise in the development and implementation of asset management, capital investment, budget and financial management programs and initiatives, for an assigned portfolio of the Province\'s Real Estate assets.

What You Will Do:

    • Accountable for the implementation of cost effective and sustainable property management solutions through service provider oversight and leadership.
    • Fostering and promoting strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders to develop the best use of and services within government assets.
    • Working with the Service Provider, the manager will oversee any escalations and report up to Ministry or IO Senior Management as required.


Who We\'re Looking For:

    • To succeed in this role, the manager should have a minimum of 7 years\' experience in managing large multi-property portfolios.
    • Ideally have a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Facility Management with a concentration in real estate property management, leasing and experience with project management.
    • Comprehensive understanding of property management as a business, including leasing, property maintenance, outsourcing models, tenant relations, and reporting.
    • Possess sound strategic planning, and solid understanding of infrastructure and property management issues, trends and solutions within public and/or private sectors.
    • Financial management and business planning, an ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment in a sensitive environment advanced organization, and the aptitude to identify problems, analyze and interpret data to make recommendations.
    • Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills to resolve issues and effective leadership skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment is a must. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite Office Products is required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • A designation recognized by recognized by REIC, IFMA or BOMA (ex. CPM, CFM, RPA, etc.) is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $94,000 to $141,000 with a corresponding job level of P5.


Employment in the Real Estate Division is conditional upon obtaining security clearance through the Program & Policy Enablement Branch, Supply Chain Ontario of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.
