About Us



The

Telecommunications Services Branch

provides network access for the OPS through data and internet services. The branch also provides services to the OPS to enable communications and collaboration, such as telephone service and voicemail, as well as audio and video conferencing. The branch is also responsible for ongoing modernization strategies and vendor management, leveraging the fundamentals of evidence-based decision-making and agile principles.

As the Manager of Telecommunications Operations, you will:


Oversee the strategic planning and execution of service migrations, ensuring seamless transition from legacy services to modern telecommunications solutions while minimizing customer disruptions and maximizing efficiency. Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the timely resolution of issues and the delivery of exceptional day-to-day support to meet the needs of the organization and its users. Collaborate with other departments to identify and address emerging telecommunications needs and requirements. Lead initiatives to improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of telecommunications infrastructure and services.

Our dedicated team of telecommunications professionals serves as the backbone of the information technology infrastructure for the Ontario government and it's 68,000 employees. Committed to service excellence, our team manages and delivers a comprehensive suite of services that enables seamless communication and collaboration across government. Our services include WAN & LAN networking, wireless network connectivity, virtual private network (VPN), video conferencing, and voice over IP (VoIP).

You have deep technical knowledge of LAN/Wi-Fi networking, Voice over IP (VoIP), and VPN technologies. You have led complex telecommunications infrastructure projects and services. You have a solid understanding of enterprise network architecture and performance standards. You have applied agile principles and evidence-based decision-making to drive operational improvements. You have managed vendor relationships and service delivery across large organizations. You have the ability to assess and respond to emerging telecommunications needs in a dynamic environment.
