Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact


A great opportunity for an individual looking for an advanced role in Project Management and client relationship. The Portfolio Manager will work as a lead member of the PMOI team to be the primary point of client contact for the Bruce Site drawdown portfolio. The Portfolio manager will oversee upcoming contracts, projects and coordinate portfolio reporting and deliverables. Working with the Section Manager, the Portfolio Manager will represent Kinectrics and ensure that our teams deliver on budget and schedule. General Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the Section Manager, Director, Client Lead, Project Controls, Bid Managers, and departmental leadership in ensuring technical work programs, internal or client the initiatives are getting the correct level of support, guidance, and oversight. Take the lead on internal reporting needs for the portfolio, including preparation and presentation at executive meetings.
  • Regularly report to management on status of bids, project deliverables and portfolio spending.
  • Provide mentoring and direction to junior staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong client and internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Interact with a full range of skilled staff.
  • Provide direction and support for implementation of PM governance and Project Controls with multiple Departments.
  • Have oversight on projects in the portfolio and ensure that Project Management methodology is being applied to every project and that they are being managed effectively (e.g., managing scope, time, cost, performance, communication, people resources, contracts, materials, risks, and quality).
  • Proactively identify and escalate project risks as a direct outcome of the oversight responsibility and help support their mitigation.
  • Monitor all department projects for financial health and overall schedule performance.
  • Ensure project data is tracked and to provide rolled-up forecasting and overall performance measurement for the Section Manager and Director.
  • Contribute to the preparation, reviewing and submission of proposals including issuing/tracking timely issuance of TOQs/Proposals.
  • Provide oversight to ensure governance is applied consistently and that best practices are utilized, lessons learned are shared.
  • Consolidate feedback and lessons learned from clients and ensuring the feedback is disseminated across the department.
  • Provide support and speedy responses to billing department during month-end invoicing and to ensure the accuracy of the issued invoices.
  • Ensure a culture of timely and effective escalation.
  • Ensure all portfolio reports to client are reviewed for highest quality/accuracy and submitted on time.
  • Establish sustainable quality submissions to the client with respect to portfolio reporting.
  • Create roll-up reports and dashboards for PMOI; check the quality of the data and develop new reports if there is an identified need that is not addressed via PMO or other support functions.



What You Need to Succeed

  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in business, science, engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related project management experience demonstrating a clear understanding of project methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills, with experience directly interfacing with clients.
  • Experience with Bruce Power Design Engineering processes/teams is an asset.
  • High sense of personal accountability.
  • Ability to understand technical and business processes quickly and take initiative for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates strengths in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and change management.
  • Experience managing projects using SAP. Toolbox knowledge and experience an asset.
  • Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) will be considered an asset but is not required.
  • Experience in nuclear industry an asset.
