Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Investments, Pension Fund, the Portfolio Manager is responsible to provide analytical support to the Senior Portfolio Managers and the Director. The Portfolio Manager assists in the management of the real estate portfolio, conducts analysis and assists in the due diligence on new investments/developments, tracks investment performance at the asset and fund level, and tracks portfolio diversification, leverage, and cash flows, and prepares regular consolidated reports thereon. The Portfolio Manager also provides analysis and commentaries to the Senior Portfolio Managers and the Director.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Portfolio Manager, Real Estate Investments, Pension Fund.

1. Tracks portfolio diversification, leverage, commitments and cash flows and measures asset and fund performance return levels.

2. Prepares real estate investment portfolio cash flows, forecasting, and valuation reports.

3. Assists in reviewing and analyzing regular reporting from asset managers and advisors.

4. Assists in the preparation of real estate property reports, portfolio reports, and internal approval documents.

5. Provides asset analysis and commentaries to the Senior Portfolio Managers and the Director.

6. Implements new reports for portfolio investment activities and results, utilizing industry / sector specific computer software and evaluation models, where applicable.

7. Assists in the preparation of business case / recommendation of potential investment opportunities for the Director\'s approval.

Qualifications

Education

  • An undergraduate degree in Real Estate, Finance or Urban Studies.
Experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an institutional real estate investments environment.
Other Candidate Requirements
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of computerized valuation, cash flow forecasting and modeling such as ARGUS.
  • Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the Yardi platform (Investor Plus, Orion BI and Voyager) is an asset
  • Ability to guide others through clearly providing advice and instruction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and to communicate complex ideas or concepts.
Other Information

Hybrid Workplace : This position will require for the incumbent to be in the office (1 Dundas St W,. Toronto) a minimum 3-4 days per week.
