About the role
As ATB's next Portfolio Analyst
, you will be a key resource for ATB Wealth advisors and their clients, providing essential sales enablement and educational support. You'll apply your expertise in investment products and industry knowledge to help advisors evaluate, build and recommend portfolios that align with their clients' goals and best interests.
Accountabilities
Your role is multifaceted, with responsibilities that span analysis, advisory support, and content creation.
Portfolio analysis and recommendations:
You will perform detailed analyses of client and prospect portfolios, offering key insights into areas such as asset mix, performance, risk, and cost. This analysis is crucial for making recommendations that help advisors better align portfolios with a client's specific needs, which in turn contributes to asset growth and retention. You will also:
Collaborate with advisors to create investment proposal documents.
Provide personalized product recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring suitability and alignment with ATB Wealth's investment values.
Stay informed on industry trends and client demand to contribute to the firm's recommended product shelf.
Effectively communicate key insights and recommendations to advisors.
Educational support and content creation:
A significant part of your role involves sharing your knowledge with both advisors and clients. You'll serve as a subject matter expert, providing educational support on a wide range of topics, including investment strategies, products, asset classes, and industry trends. This is done to empower advisors and strengthen their client relationships. Your contributions will include:
Generating ideas and creating educational content and tools for both internal and external audiences.
Contributing to articles published on the ATB Wealth website.
Helping with education and sales enablement projects by monitoring and communicating emerging industry and product trends.
Skills, experience & requirements
Competencies and skill sets
Analytical and detail oriented with strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Strong communicator, both orally and written, with ability to translate complex topics to a variety of audiences including clients and seasoned advisors.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Thorough understanding of the investment industry with a particular emphasis on managed and passive products.
A keen interest in financial markets and the investment industry.
Designations and experience
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field of study.
At least five years of experience in the wealth management or investment industry.
Strong preference for candidates having completed, or in the process of completing, the CFA Program.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Experience with Morningstar Advisor Workstation would be beneficial.
